Local Information Lyme Regis
is an historic and unspoilt resort situated at the most westerly point of
Dorset. Famous for being the home
of the film “The French Lieutenant’s Woman”, it is also renowned for its
geology and many important fossil finds. Blessed
with stunning coastal and country views, it is the perfect base for walking,
photography or painting holidays. It
has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it has also been
confirmed as a World Heritage Site.
There is a wide
range of fishing and boat trips available as well as sandy beaches perfect for the kids to while away the days.
A picturesque fishing harbour featuring the historic Cobb and the
pleasure gardens has superb views across Lyme Bay.

(which includes a spectacular display by the Red Arrows). Lyme Regis makes the perfect base for touring the West Country with Poole, Swanage, Studland, Isle of Purbeck, Weymouth, Beer, West Bay, Axmouth, Axminster, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Exeter all being within easy reach.
